Cream Legbar

I don’t really breed Cream Legbars much as I want to concentrate on the other two breeds I have, but they are probably going to be something I always have around.

This breed comes from a golden age of genetic understanding and chicken breeding just after the WWII and before factory farming and the cross-bred laying hens that are its lifeblood came into being. It was developed along with some other autosexing breeds by Professor Reginald Punnett (the same inventor of the Punnett Square) in order to provide a utility laying breed suitable for the less intensive farming systems of the time. They are one of the few autosexing breeds with the peeps being sexable at hatch from their down colour. They are highly prolific layers of blue to blue-green eggs.
